Social Programme and Logistical Management
Sister Cities, a not for profit organisation, decided to host its annual conference in Belfast in 2009. Happening were there to ensure everything went smoothly. This was the first time in 53 years that the event was hosted outside of the United States of America. Delegates included elected and appointed city officials, business executives, educators, non-profit leaders, community activists, and volunteers attending from across the U.S. and around the world.
We took the reigns, managing sponsorship, transport, volunteers, and an extensive social programme.
The social programme included some impressive events:
- A leadership reception hosted by the US Consul.
- Welcome reception at Parliament Buildings, addressed by the First and Deputy First Minister.
- Mayor’s reception in the Ulster Hall.
- Gala dinner in a top Belfast city hotel.
The delegates were entertained by collaboration between the Ulster Scots Agency and Foras Na Gaeilge.
